Jetpack Joyride Game
Jetpack Joyride is a great game made by Halfbrick that is exclusive to the iPhone. In the game, you set out on a Joyous ride using a nifty Jetpack device on a crusade to kill as many scientists as you can, and collecting coins. The ultimate goal is to score the highest points you can, which is done by surviving the longest, and collecting various bonuses and power ups along your ride.
Our story begins in a secret lab, where a bunch of scientists construct an experimental Jetpack device. You have seen it before in James Bond movies, or in transformers robots, and now in your very own iPhone. Now meet Barry, a frustrated employee that just finished his day time job, heading back to his home. Alas, Barry happened to walk by the lab where he glanced at the Jetpacks, and the rest is history.
The game begins when Barry breaks into the lab, steal the Jetpack and make his escape through a journey towards the exit. But don’t mistake the angry scientists for helpless dweebs – they have installed laser zappers, homing missiles and electric traps along your way to bring you down and re-take the Jetpack! After all, it’s only one of a kind, you can’t expect them to give it up that easily!
Game controllers are super simple, you can tap anywhere you want inside the screen to activate the Jetpack and ascend towards the end of the screen. Once you let go, the Jetpack will stop working and Barry will start to descend down, until he touches the floor, and when he will start running with his Jetpack wrapped around his back. The laser traps will be placed randomly throughout the level, in various places, each with different height and different length, so at times you will need to ascend or descend in a split second to avoid getting zapped!
Homing Missiles will be fired upon you constantly, making you maneuver the Jetpack like a pro to avoid a deadly explosion. As for the last obstacle, the electricity trap, is definitely the most creative one. You will encounter these from time to time along your journey, and what they are is basically the trap from “Cube” or “Resident Evil”, which is a set of interlinked hardwired electrical charges that move forward and burn everything they come in contact with. Safe to say you might wanna stay away from them, wannabe hero!
Another important factor in Jetpack Joyride Game are the various vehicles. You can transform yourself to a transformer-like robot by grabbing the Lil Stomper, which can jump very high and assist you in collect coins and avoiding dangers. Next, is the Profit Bird, which is basically a mechanical bird that is very heavy, so collect coins and avoiding dangers can be a little hard at first. The Crazy Freaky Teleporter is one strange device, which teleports you to various locations on your screen according to a small constantly changing arrow in front of the apparatus, upon your tap. The Gravity Suit makes you walk on the ceiling when you tap once, and back to normal mode when you re-tap the screen. The last two are Mr.Cuddles, which is a strange looking mechanical dragon which floats upwards by default, which means it will descend when you tap it, as oppose to the normal Jetpacks which can be a little tricky, and Bad as Hog, which is a cool motorcycle that is unbelievably fast and jump like a crazy stunt man!
The last important part about Jetpack Joyride are the two collectible items, coins and power ups. When you collect a power up, you get to spend a roulette-like wheel at the end of the game which gives you various bonuses. These power ups stack too, which means the more, the merrier. Among the bonuses are revive, small explosions which launches Barry further, Big explosion which is the same like the small one, only bigger… And head start which is normally activated in the next game which launches Barry is a cool shock wave-like-bullet a couple of hundred meters to get an edge. You can also compete with friend in the online mode, and purchase cool items, power ups, and Jetpack upgrades in “The Stash” – the in-game store of Jetpack Joyride Game.
Have a lovely journey!
